I got a warmhearted letter from
sisustus.ee congratulating me on my birthday. Only thing is, that today is not my birthday. Tomorrow is. Seeing the headline I thought, nice, somebody has messed with their database. But, it was not an accident.
It is known that on birthday you receive so many mails, messages and calls that a message like that would be unnoticed. This letter shows that they have put some thought into customer service and it was totally not unnoticed.
Nice way of forward thinking.
I was wondering, whether to congratulate you here on your real birthday date or late. As you can already tell, later was the option. So happy birthday! May the new year bring you lot's of joy and happiness!
ReplyDeleteBut coming to the point, I believe that birthday e-mails are not commodities (we do not get them too many), thus we shouldn't be worried about those that arrive on time.
If sisustus.ee or some other service chooses to spam us with some kind of good wishes, there better be some good reason for that. In my opinion "good ad" has useful content for the client. Lack of such content would rise the question of the reason for the service/good in the first place. The spam before the birthday would surely be noticeable but hardly would deserve compliments from general audience.
So in conclusion: do not suggest to Your clients to use this method for better attention. Best attention is useful product.
